I received an email yesterday (from TWR computing) which included the following comment:

Customers who have bought FTM 2008 over the last 12 months will probably be already aware that they are entitled to a free upgrade as they should have received an email from Ancestry explaining how to send for a disc. If you have registered your program and have not received the email then we suggest you ring the Ancestry help line 0800 404 9723 to find out how to go about receiving your free upgrade. However there is a deadline for this offer which ends on 26 September.

I would therefore suggest that if you haven´t yet received an email from Ancestryit might be worth contacting them.

What email address did you use to "jolly them up"? I haven't had an email from them either.

Not sure what method Heather used but here is an option.
Log into Ancestry and click the Help button (top right).
You will then see a box with a list of possible topics with a tab at the top Ask Ancestry.
Click the other tab - Email Ancestry Support - and send your message via that.

Right girls I have just installed FTM2009 and yes it is a new stand alone program , so I now have 2006/2008/2009 on desktpo , will wait a bit and then delete 2008 ;;
the publish book option is not like the book in 2006 but the new ancestry book that you can print out from ancestry press itself ;;

It does seem a bit "hit and miss" - but just to emphasise the offer expires on 26th September so if anyone hasn't received the offer then they should contact Ancestry ASAP!

Well didnt find it load up any quicker , still not as fast as 2006
There is good supply of charts and I did try the duplicate people report but came out of it as didnt quite know how to double check people , think I would rather have 2 FTM open to see whats what on that one ;;
