Hi all I am still struggling to find the birth of my Great Granddad William (Billy) Spratt, he died in 1962 aged 80 which would gove his birth as 1882, that is assumomng his age is correct on the deather certificate I have, I have found both his marriages one in 1909 and his seconnd in 1908 (that was quick) I know he lived in Fermanagh in Northern Ireland in an area called Ballycassidy Trory, there is no mention of his father on any of the marriage certificates so he is unknown, but I would assume there would be some record of his birth, but I am unable to find anything, can anyone offer any clues.

If his age is correct on the death certificate then perhaps this is also a match. I would love to find out about his mum though, thank you again.Rob

I think part of the problem I am having is I can find a William James Henry Spratt born 27/10/1913 which appears to be William's son, as it lists a Willam Spratt as his father who is a Railway Porter so we are on the right lines. He is proving to be very elusive.Rob

PS This is odd - the two daughters born before 1911 are boarders with a Catholic family in 1911:

I think this may be William in 1911? Age is transcribed as 76 but if you look at the original image I'm not sure what the age is! Other than that, other things fit - he is married (although I can't find wife Sarah anywhere in Co Fermanagh), he is COI, and he is a railway porter. Household 21.2
What do you think as to the age?
He seems to be living in the same house as Robert Porteous, a 36 year old plate layer and his family: household 21.1

We are almost finished with the first’s, we have the 1st Jan which is when Justin’s crashed his car in what we though was an accidental, but now we realise it was his first attempt, then we have his birthday in February, and then of course March, which will be difficult, the 2nd when he took his life, the 25 when we had his funeral and then we are into the second anniversaries. Apart from the inquest date. Thank you for thinking of us. I do miss posting, but I do often read what is been posted.Rob
