do you anything about Joseph age 6 on the passenger list?

Thanks again Elaine for this. I think it is Mary because looking at the way similar letters are formed on the page, I believe it does say Mary.

I haven't found out anything about Joseph age 6 on the passenger list, he still remains a mystery. I think I have found the others. Phoebe Mason appears to marry John Thomas Billsdon, she appears as the informant on Rachel Mason's Death Certificate & Joseph Mason's Will

I've found Laura's obit in the newspapers FMP

          Altoona Mirror 04 May 1961

          Mrs Laura Howard

A former Altoonan, died at 3.30a.m. today in the Episcopal Home, 206 E. Hurd Street., Shippensburg, where she had been a guest for the past year, after a lengthy illness. She was born May 7, 1877, a daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Mason, and married Frederick E. Howard who preceded her in death. Mrs. Howard has resided in Altoona for a number of years, holding membership in St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Dames of Malta. Surviving are two sons Frederick H. of Altoona and Alf in England, three granchildren and five great-grandchildren. Internment will be made in Altoona.

I can't understand where Staffordshire fits in the picture, but all other facts appear to match. How do you know it's a register office wedding?
Many thanks again for your help

On Rachel Mason's Death Certficate the Informant is "P Billsdon Daughter", however in Joseph (Rachel's husband) Mason's Will, Laura Mason & Phoebe Billsdon are cited as Neices, but more likely great Neices

I have a lot of discs for Leicester and if there isn't a church named, it is most likely register Office.

Will look in the papers for Joseph, it's so difficult not being sure where he is. Have come across a Joseph or 2 who are miner's and another Joseph in Clearfield having children after they leave if I remember right. Will double check and see if anything stands out. I have looked more in USA, have you tracked more of Thomas's children or the Mason's in England?

Thanks very much Elaine. Sorry I have responded earlier, life has got in the way of my research! I have been tracing Thomas's children and most seem to have gone to the USA. However having established that Joseph is the father of Laura, I am going to start a new thread to try to find out my most frustrating mystery which is related to another Joseph Mason, the uncle of Laura's father. "Mason Mystery". Thanks again.
