    Thanks Naomiatt , I have searched the records on the Australian site and no mention of R W Dibben.

    I am going to try the TNA.

      Hi Ken - Was his dob 18th July 1918? Could he have been born in Australia? There are two R W
      Dibben's in the Australian Archives...one with that dob, Roy William, and one who was up for promotion, R W Dibben...plenty of James's as well and a fair number of Dibben's....was wondering why he was called 'Jim'.

          Interestingly, some of the numbers mentioned do match up to real people, but not with the surname of Dibben....World War Two Nominal Roll
