  • Edwin Wright of Alwoodley

i need help sorting out an uncle. Edwin Wright b.1833 Alwoodley Yorks, son of Richard Wright + Elizabeth Lupton. have him located 1841-1871, then nothing. last seen in 1871 census at Alwoodley, unmarried, farm labourer.

he isn't the one who died 9 jan 1871, leeds. this is before the 1871 census and i think this one married Sarah Simpson in 1859 at Leeds.

he isn't the one from East Keswick living with brother George in 1881 either.

    can anyone spot anything?
    thanks

i can't see him either in 1891. there is an Edwin Wright in the Leeds workhouse, b.Leeds, but occupation is engine driver.

the 1892 death is incorrect, for a mill wright in Bradford. the death that may fit is in 1893, Leeds workhouse. Edwin Wright, 56, b.1837. pthisis. general labourer of Child's lodging house, Kirkgate. informant was the superintendant. this Edwin is buried in Beckett st cemetery. though can't help but wonder if this is the one from the 1891 census....who could also be the one in 1881 census with wife Sarah, occupation is clothier there though.
