PCC death duties

  • PCC death duties

    i've found an ancestor who died in 1843 and there is no will in hampshire where death occurred or in the PCC wills, yet the death duties entry is listed under PCC? i thought there would have to be a will or administration in the PCC for death duties to be done through that court? can anyone shed any light?
