  • Help deciphering Worcestershire place name

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can have better luck deciphering the placename on this record. The family resided in Worcestershire in the Dormston/Kington area and were in Dormston 8 years earlier in 1818. The burial took place in Inkberrow.

    Many Thanks, Helen

I would say Nowers Green or Noivers Green but can't find the name on the map. Could it be the name of a farm or very small hamlet.

I'd say Nowers Green. I think the dot is ink from the start point of a letter on the back of the page. The 'w' looks like the one in 'twenty six'

And just for a giggle ......

Thank you all for your replies.

I will continue to pursue Nowers Green and see if I can find it on an old map or similar.

Fantastic Carolyn. It's slap bang in the heart of the area where the family resided over the years.

                    Thank you so much.
