I have just found this entry in the census and I'm wondering if it/they are connected to my Holmes' at all.

William Holmes b. 1764 MKT Harboro a pauper stocking weaver and his brother
John Holmes b. 1771 Little Bowden Northamptonshire a pauper labourer

they are both stated as Widowers.. can anyone else find any other information please. This is the 1851 cens.

    1851: https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bi...tid=21707627&p id=312382579965&hid=1030408641167&usePUB=true&_phs rc=xxf4088&_phstart=default&usePUBJs=true&currentP ageIsStart=&_gl=1*50ra4m*_ga*MTI1ODA1MTU0OS4xNjQ1O Dk5NTA4*_ga_4QT8FMEX30*MTY2MDQ2NTg3NC4xOTAuMS4xNjY wNDY3MDc5LjA.

Source Citation Class: HO107; Piece: 2079; Folio: 146; Page: 21; GSU roll: 87705

I suspect I'm just chasing my tail and I'll not be able to make much headway.

    thanks for reading.

Been having a look, but not much coming out. I found the baptism for a William Holmes, in Market Harborough on 1 May 1765, parents William and Mary, and then one for John in Little Bowden on 10/12/1772,parents also William and Mary, so possibly the 2 in 1851.

Also possible deaths for William in MarQ 1853, age 82, in Leicester and for John SepQ 1859, also age 82, Leicester.

Apart from that nothing that could pin them down.

        Could be William - https://www.ancestry.co.uk/discovery...=successSource

Still looking for John, maybe they stayed in Little Bowden , will have a trawl through the 1841

Same link, go to top of page 11 (or 7/10 on Ancestry) and there is a John Holmes

The reason for me asking about this William is that I have a William Holmes b abt. 1771 in my tree and this has come up in the hints alongside a death entry.

my William married Ann Wardle and was an Ag Lab.. I have them in 1841 in Worthington, Leicestershire. mistrans as Hobans [though I have corrected it]

          1841: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/discovery...d=312382579965

I did wonder if they were one and the same people..

Thanks Linda, I'm not sure that they are connected to my Holmes' but I'm having quite bit of difficulty finding/connecting people.
