Wills, estate and guardian records were created to safeguard real and personal property against unexpected events such as the death of the owner. They offer vital clues to your ancestor’s life. Wills
Hello, please can someone help me with where to try and find a will - never looked before. I'm not sure what site(s) to try or if there is somewhere better than others to search?
The will would of been 'published' around 1726 in Berkshire (he died in West Ilsley). I will try looking for more info on the nespapers site as the man I'm after (8 x great grandfather) started a brewery in 1771 which became popular and wasn't properly taken over until the 1990's. His eldest son took it on / was left in charge of it I'm guessing as it goes down his line rather than mine (youngest but one son) but still really interesting!
Thanks for any help
