Just had the Friday email and it said Shropshire Quarter Sessions were now indexed. Just being nosey, I took a look for my Murray / Morrey / Morris lot and lookee what I found The name Stock has a bit missing - it ought to be Stockton, her mother’s ms. Mary was one of three illegitimate girls born to Ann Stockton in Nantwich Union Workhouse. Ann was herself illegimate. Whether my direct ancestor 2xGGF James Murray was birth father to Mary or either of the other two is not proven. James (hawker), Ann and Mary appear as Morris in 1851. They are lodgers. The first child Jane had died at 3 weeks and Ellen was yet to be born. This James is the brother of my Joseph in another thread
