the obit says his parents were Joseph and Elizabeth (Warner) Davis so looks like you have solved the mystery.

If Samuel died in 1835, some of the children were still young so she could well have remarried.

Brilliant vera2013 thank you. I can't see the FMP ones as I don't have a sub to that. Having children Samuel and Teresa certainly seem to be heading in the right direction and there is a Daniel with him too... as a Shoemaker App... thank you. x

Yes Teresa was 3 years old when she was buried.. I have fired off an email to the church to see if Samuel/Sarah are buried together they were both buried on Oct 01.

Thanks cbcarolyn I'm not quite sure what to think with Joseph, I have the two marriages where he is both a widower.. so he'd need to be married before 1837 for him to be a widower in his second marriage in 1837 to Ann Chamberlain?..

I will look further into FM P baps

They are of a mother named Ann Davis who baps children Lucy Davis and Ellen Davis on 1823/1824 at Stude ley. These baps also on Free Reg. Not sure where Ann Davis fits in. No father recorded but not recorded as being illegitimate.
Ann Davis was a needle women. Residence same as that for Joseph and Ann on 1841 ie Green Lane, Sutton Coldfield. Bit tight for a 3rd wife of Samuel.

There is a death for a Daniel Davis 1846 Aston reg aged 24. Can't see a PR

Have you not read 'Anne of green gables' ? or seen 'Anne with an 'e' on Netflix?

Marilla & Matthew Cuthbert are the siblings that adopt Anne from the orphanage.
