    How times have changed Len!
A speech like that would be career suicide now. You must be just slightly younger than my mother would have been (1923). She was regularly strapped on her inner forearm in her Scottish school. Fortunately, there was no corporal punishment in my grammar school. My brothers, however, were less fortunate in theirs. One monk used to actually stand on a desk so that he could get a better downward swing with the strap!

Uncle John - I didn't learn about the existence of left-handed nibs until I tried my hand at calligraphy when I was in my early thirties!
