  • William Rowland & family possibly of Edmonton/Tottenham not on 1901 Census

I can't find my ancestors William Rowland (b.1843) and family (possibly of Edmonton/Tottenham) on the 1901 Census. I've tried using all combinations of the spelling and the order of their names, sadly without success. William's family was his wife Constance, born Webb, in 1861 and later Medhurst and their sons were Albert John b.1891, Edward Charles b.1893, Ernest Annesley b.1896 and I believe a 4th son Herbert Austin b.1894. I have William and Constance on the 1891 census but none of the sons were born at that time. I also know the whereabouts of Albert, Edward and Ernest in 1911, but by then I believe both parents had died. The sons were born in the Tottenham/Edmonton/Forest Gate areas so the family may all have been around that area in 1901. By 1911, when they were still quite young, the sons were split up in the St Pancras, Forest Gate and East Ham areas. Both William and Constance did have children by previous marriages and also siblings and I have also checked these as far as possible in case the family were living with any of them in 1901. I've run out of ideas, can anyone help me to trace them, please.

Well Constance appears to die in Epsom in 1907, so she should be somewhere. I'm afraid I can't see her though.

Williams occupation in 1891 is a Bricklayer Julie, so I was trying to find him with that occupation maybe should have looked for a Labourer in 1901

Thanks for that. I'm new to this forum and am really pleased to get some responses. Yes, I wasn't sure if that death record related to the right Constance, but now that you have suggested quite independently that it's her, I'll pursue her death certificate. Thanks for trying to find her in 1901 anyway, it's a real mystery.

OK thanks for looking. It's really strange that they are just not there.
