  • Hull help please

    I wonder if you can help me. I have found a record of one of my ancesters in the IGI that reads;

    IGI
    MARTHA DREWRY Pedigree
    Marriages:
    Spouse: JOHN RYALL Family
    Marriage: 20 SEP 1819 Holy Trinity, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire, England
    Source Information:
    Batch No.: Dates: Source Call No.: Type: Printout Call No.: Type:
    M107481 1813 - 1837 0990831-2, 0919483 Film 6910990 Film

    Is there any way I can find out what was written in this marriage record as I am trying to trace ancestors from further back in time and I have got stuck at this point.
    Many thanks for your time

    You could email or phone the County Records at Beverley. Phone 01482 392790. Email: archives.services@eastriding.gov.uk

    Since you have an exact item to look up (rather than a long search) it would not take them long. They may make a small charge.

    Alternatively you could visit Beverley yourself and be able to look at all the records they have for free!

      Bear in mind that the marriage entry won't tell you their fathers' names (unless either Martha or John was a minor), although it will give you the names of the witnesses, who may or may not be relatives.
