    Kat,

His details are James Thomas Chapman born on 30/11/1895, at what looks like 17 New James Street, Peckham. Father Frederick Chapman, Mother Ellen Chapman, late Younger, formerly Edmonds, Registered on 18/01/1896, district Camberwell, sub district Peckham

Sure I spotted a Younger to Younger marriage....I'll go back and have a look! Back in a min...

Hmm, well out of area, but here it is:

      William Anderson Younger
      to Ellen Younger
      Mar Q 1907, Tynemouth 10b 458.

Sorry, it's probably a complete red herring.

I presume this is the marriage of the parents of Henry and Eleanor?

            Marriages Sep 1882

BRAY Sarah Annie Camberwell 1d 1135
            Holmes Hannah Camberwell 1d 1135
Ward George William Camberwell 1d 1135
            Younger William Camberwell 1d 1135

There is a Sarah Ann Bray born in Camberwell in 1862, making her a few years younger (apparently) than Ellen Edmonds (1855ish)

              Kat,

It's a copy, but looks like it's from the original. The certificates for all his siblings say the same, and they were got at different times.

Do you think it could be Youngar?

I've been through the census's trying to trace Ellen (senior) backwards, but haven't been able to do that either.

I've tried all YOU* so that would have come up.

                      I can't find an Ellen/Eleanor BRAY in Peckham/Camberwell in 1861 either.

Are you sure these peeps exist LOL

                            Kat,

If I didn't have these certs in front of me (and of course seeing my grandfather), I would have a hard time believing it myself. I just don't understand. I was able to trace my great grandfather back, and have got his birth details, and the cert for his first marriage to Henrietta, but as for the rest it's strange.

Henry Bray single 24 bricklayers lab b Camberwell
William Younger 7 single scholar b Camberwell

No relationships for the above Granny, son and grandson??

                                Merry,

On the 1901 census t has Henry as a Vanguard Railway Worker, and it says that Ellen (daughter) had fits from birth. I have no idea if that helps. Baileys sounds a very good idea.

                                    pmsl!

I've gone backwards with Sarah Bray b 1862 and other than her mum, Sarah, not being a widow (she's unmarried when she hadn't had so many children!) I didn't find anything remarkable. (no appearances of anyone called Ellen or Edmonds etc etc)
