I hope not, because it's going to be impossible to find her in Italian records :(

      Hi,
Found this on Ancestry today, guessing you didn't have it before and hoping it's your Mary.

      - Ancestry.co.uk

Not that it helps with the death date of course!

The Book Search lists various names among the key words and phrases for that snippet. Artist Roberto Bompiani would be about the right age, and died in 1908, but I haven't found out who he married yet.

I found it by searching for Mary Eyre Bompiani, and came across another Australian lady who's interested in her:

                  Found the death on Ancestry:

                  Bompiani Mary E, 86, Dorchester, 51 313 (?), 3rd quarter of 1920.

That fits nicely with her year of birth.

I've walked round the graveyard at Wyke Regis loads of times (where my grandparents were married and where my 3xg-grandparents and their forebears were bap and bur.)

I wonder if she has a gravestone??

                        Ooh, go on!

It'd be nice to have a photo of the headstone already posted on the thread when Libby wakes up

There's a list of Memorial Inscriptions at Dorset CRO for the All Saints, Wyke Regis.

Oh, blimey, I bet Libby's in bed now! Wake her up, someone!

                                Absolutely SPIFFINGLY well done Mary!!!!

(And how I love that EYRE connection, cos that fits perfectly with the leg in armour thingy and there is loads about the landed Eyre family all over google. I was going to suggest investigating the Eyres, in order to find Mary but it semed a hugely impossible task and possibly a red herring anyway.

                                OC)

Your kids won't mind waiting a couple of hours, surely?

It's hard to know if Jacquie Sansom is refering to the surname only as she seems to want the middle name to be Carr not Eyre.

I see she is in Oz!! lol

That guestbook entry's the one I linked to earlier, and I agree, it sounds as though she may be searching for somebody quite different. It came in very useful, though

The Wyke Regis MI's are here, but there's nothing for Mary:
