Margaret, I am sure it is something that can be easily fixed. Why not let Russ on the helpline see if he can help you first.

FTM 2008 is fully compatible with Vista, but I have to tell you it really is nothing like FTM 2006. I have got both installed on my computer but am still using 2006 for my own tree.

It's not a problem limited to a particular version, it's just how FTM is set up, i just haven't got round to sorting it out, setting the default printer and updating the drivers isn't difficult, i'm just being lazy (plus busy in the wiki).

I'm not too bothered about it. FTM 2006 works well on Vista. It's just the creating trees etc to show someone else that is a problem. Not something I do very often anyway.

Margaret, if you do decide to post a question on the FTM help forum, then this link would probably be the best one to use
            Family Tree Maker Printing Forum
            - not the one I gave in an earlier post.

They have different forums for different problems - you can see this list on here
            General
            - scroll down to the Genealogy Software section and you will see the various FTM forums.

I have just posted a question in the forum you suggested Elaine. Will see where we go from here.

              Thanks for your help.

Just to let you know, it has been sorted. Uninstall and reinstall. Make sure that the patch is installed in the same place as FTM

So am I and I ordered 2008 earlier today as well pmsl

Oh, I will be able to see the difference for myself

The thing is, if I had gone with my instinct and uninstalled and reinstalled the patch I wouldn't have had a problem, but was frightened to.

                          Tell Glen will you :D:D
