  • 1861 lookup, please

Hi - Can anyone locate JOSEPH KILBY born abt 1824 Leicester in 1861?

I've got his wife Jane born abt 1825 Staffordshire + children Henry born abt 1856 Northamptonshire and Sarah Jane born abt 1853 Burton on Trent visiting Joseph's parents Joseph and Sarah at St Margaret, Leicester.

In 1851 and 1871 the family are living in Birmingham.

    Any help would be appreciated
    Regards
    Lass

Well ......... that diversion didn't prove to be successful

in 1851 Joseph, Jane and son John G Kilby were living at 7 Fazeley St., St Batholomew , Birmingham

in 1871 they'd moved to 1 Inclorme(?) Buildings, off Bishop St South, St Martin, Birmingham; children Sarah (18) and Henry (15), no sign of John G

so still not tracked tracked Joseph down in 1861 .......... :(

I'm still trying to find Joseph (occupation: currier) in 1861 … can anyone please help to find him?

He was born in 1823 Leicester
In 1841 and 1851 he's living in Birmingham
In 1861 his wife Jane and children are visiting his parents Joseph and Sarah in Leicester but Joseph is not listed with them.
In 1871 the family are living in Birmingham

If after 10 years nobody can find him he may have simply missed the census, perhaps travelling, or he may have been abroad.
                    People: Canton, Wiseman, Colthup, Scrace
                    Places: Pembrokeshire, Kent.

1871 They are living 3 Melsome Buildings not 1 Inclorme(?) Buildings, off Bishop St South as in post#8. Have searched but these buildings are not listed in 1861 perhaps they were built later. Not at 7 Fazeley Street either in 1861.

Hi, I know it's a long shot but working on the basis that new records / updates appearing regularly … maybe he was, as you say, missed when census taken etc.
Did wonder if he might be in hospital or some other institution. Fingers crossed that someone is establish where Joseph was in 1861.

Hi Katarzyna … thanks for looking. I recently solved this one - the child listed as John (mmn Palmer) was registered in Q2 1851 as George Walter, he died Q3 Birmingham.
