  • where else can I look?

I've had a birth certificate through this morning (est date of despatch 3rd March - well done GRO) The cert is for Thomas Archer born 9 April 1839 Swayfield, Lincs, father William Archer mother Ann Archer nee Rosling.

I've been looking online for a marriage of William Archer to Ann Rosling but can't see one. She appears to have been baptised in Swayfield on 13 July 1813, and he was also born in Swayfield so thats where I would expect the marriage to have taken place.

The first child of William and Ann was born abt 1838, Swayfield. see 1851 HO107; Piece: 2095; Folio: 74; Page: 6

No marriages for Swayfield on the IGI, nothing on Familyhistoryonline. Is there anywhere else I can look, other than checking the original PRs at Lincoln Archives?

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Elaine has done her magic again!

If they were married 1835 I think they might perhaps have had another child before 1838 - maybe one that died or was stillborn/miscarried.

              Thank you for that Elaine.

Nell - I see what you mean about the gap between marriage and first child being born.

Wendy - thats odd, I haven't got a PM from you

Haven't had a chance to look to see if your family on there - on hols in Spain!
