Thanks for that Linda, have added it to favourites; haven't gone a long way with OHs cornish Miners yet, so there might be some women employed in the mines as well.

Jess - I can see it now on the countywide bit. Was that Lyn's?
Mine, under maps, still doesn't look right. Off to have another go!

                      Gillian

I haveput the star in where the link really needs to go, under countywide links, 3rd entry down ( to be in alphabetical order) stick it in there.

                      go on, its good practice

Sorry Lyn and well done! And, shamingly, you got yours right first time! Not only was mine done wrong, but I also put it in the wrong place!
Not so much a learning curve for me, more a precipice.

Update - boy you're a hard taskmaster Jess! Off to sort it (I hope!)

Hi Linda, I'm going to have a look at that site when I have more time.

Prior to 1973 when we emigrated to NZ we spent all our annual holidays in Foye. There was a tiny shop beside the ferry that sold models of Bal Maidens & other mine workers as well as booklets that told the stories.
I bought several to send to my nieces in NZ expecting them to treasure them as being examples of English history. I was none too pleased when we arrived out there to find they had played with them & they had been consigned to the bin. Wish I had kept them myself now.

No worries, Jess. Just didn't realize that anyone was trying & thought that I would have a go & see if was as easy as you said.

Gillian! You're doing fine! Keep at it....I don't even know if I got it right, cos I never tried it before I deleted it, so I may have been going all night! LOL!!

                                  *blushes modestly* thanks Jess.

And Linda - that is a really interesting site. Thanks for the link. I don't have miners in Cornwall, but was horrified when I read of the conditions for my relatives on a Fife mining site.

Jess are you saying mine worked, too?
I probably will have forgotten how by the time I find something else to add and have to revert to asking you to add it! LOL!!

yes it did Lyn- stop doubting yourself

I like people that stick at things- ask julie how often i said ''B*ggar it'' and she sorted out my mess,

i wouldnt have said it was easy if it wasnt~ no point

                                      its just

                                      *[ web address
                                      onespace
whatever you want to call it
                                      ]

where in the links you actually place it can always come later. the fact that the link is there is the achievement
