      Well found that girl Occupation quarryman, that nearly makes sense.


      So just the 1841 to go now, and I wish they'd decide precisely where they were born as well as not knowing their names

        1841 there's this one born 1826 living in Durham and says born in county. Transcribed Matthouse.

        HO107, Piece 303, Book 24, Folio 3, Page 1


        Or this one born 1831 Yorkshire living in the workhouse.

        HO107, Piece 1340, Book 8, Folio 22, Page 4


        Neither seem to be much use.

          Somehow I've got a feeling the one in the workhouse is the more likely, at least he's born Yorkshire. As you say though it may not help a lot at the moment:(

              It looks like there was a John Maltas baptised 3rd April 1825 at St Peters, Leeds. Parents James Maltas and Elizabeth
