Still delving into Ancestry records and I have found my grandfathers Pension card, is there anyone with a Fold 3 subscription who could look up the original for me please.

My grandfather was James Elliott. 18/287 Northumberland Fusiliers, died 8 November 1917. There is also a reference number 2/APW/2758. I was told that he died from a snipers bullet and I am wondering if the card would give any more details.

    Thank you.

I thought Rusty wanted the Pension Card? The link is to the medal index card.

Looking on Ancestry there are actually two pension cards - one with the full service number, which under 'Record Type' says 'Card' and is referenced 2/APW/2758.

The other gives his service number as 287 Record Type: Death, and is referenced
        27./W/58

Both mention Margaret, but on the first mentions what I assume are the children.

I think Fold 3 offers a 7-day free trial, if you haven't already used it - just make sure you cancel it in good time so they don't try & take payment.

It usually has a link to ancestry if the card is there and this one didn't so I linked it to what I found.
