      Hm, that's a good idea! I have to do that! Maybe that'll help - could have a listing of his parents on there!

      You know, that's not something I had stopped to consider. I remember the family talking about how it was likely he didn't have a formal training to become a doctor but that was just theorizing and no one really knew for sure. Although, he did stay in Georgia a while so it would make sense! I'll have to look into that - poke around and see if I can find some of the older schools they had there. I wonder if they had medical schools back then...I'm sure they did.

      Well, I believe he had applied for a land grant and it was only granted after he had passed. So my best guess is that that land went to his wife and children.
