I'm still going through the records from Aberford, there seemed to be one extended family there, but so far not found any death or marriage for the George born in 1777, so still a possible, I think it will take me some time to unravel them all.Linda

Back to your original post, I am assuming that Harriet is a red herring?
I have one here:
1841
1851
sister in law, born in Newington Bagpath 10 miles from Stroud
Frances could be Morse or even Morgan, as birth date before marriage to George Jackson, and could also be known as Fanny. Hve tried searching for these but drawn a blank.
Do you have a death for Thomas Morse?Carolyn

I think that other online trees have combined two families and yes, that Harriet is a red herring. Also the death they mention for Thomas is for the father of Harriet, and not the father of Lavinia. Looking at the census records you have found, that Harriets mother was Sarah so totally wrong, therefore I think we can discard Harriet completely.
I have not been able to find an appropriate death for Thomas Morse. I am also starting to wonder if the baptism we have found for Lavinia, with parents William and Ann might be correct, with an error for Williams name.
Also, regarding Frances, I have also looked for Morse and Morgan with no luck. My other thought (and this is something that I have come across) is that Frances is completely unrelated (she is down as F.S) but was given the family's name in error.Linda

William and Anne Morse had another daughter, Agnes, bap 13 Jan 1808 in Harescombe, which is just up the road from Pitchcombe which is where Lavinia Morse Nash says she was born. It looks like Agnes dies in 1829, in Bowbridge - coincidentally where George and Ann are living at the time!Linda

did you notice that the 1871 census is both families next door, I had spotted Lavinia, but not top family
John Morse
I reckon William b 1781 Stonehouse is possibly Thomas brother
He married Ann Perrin ---> Lavina
He married Elizabeth Hewling --> Eliza Morse b 1818 d 1819 then Eliza Morse b 1820 and she went to Australia
I then have found a Samuel Morse b 1778 married Martha --> Jane b1807 - can't find this baptism
Parents Samuel Morse and Hester Brookes or maybe Brooker

Looked at David and the families in 1871, are on the page before on the above link including Richard Webb, who would be Maria Smith's father. Richard married Phoebe Purnell, and Robert Morse is born here in Berkshire.

David Smith is on the same census as Lavinia and is a dyer, looked around the neighbours to see if they were related as John Morse is there as well.Elaine
