Can someone decipher place of death?

    Hello,

An ancestor died in Egypt in 1915, he was part of the Berkshire Yeomanry. The pace of death has been transcribed as Maenoah but there is no such place. I have tried searching different spellings and looking at a map but can't figure it out.
Can anyone read what it actually says or know a site that would tell me places in Egypt we would of been in during this time?

    Thank you!

On Dec 11 there appears to have been some action at a place called Matruh in Egypt. Could that be it?
