  • Louie Richards- Mission Impossible.

Louie was born in Camborne 1901/2. father Thomas Henry, mother Elizabeth/Bessie (Mill). In a 1972 Will she is listed as Louie Foster, her sister Lottie married John H. Foster and they moved to Kent.

I cannot find a marriage of Louie to a Foster anywhere, I have all the details of all of Louie,s siblings, but she is a complete mystery, she was alive in 1972 as per the Will. There is a Louie Foster who died in Kent in the 1970,s but her birth date is 1895. Perhaps the Will details are incorrect and a mix up with Louie and Lottie, both with Foster names.

Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Quick answer, one man married two sisters.

Slow answer - the outline of the names Louie and Lottie is almost identical, so I would want to see them both alive in 1901 to make sure they weren't the same person. I know more than one person married, divorced, then remarried the original husband.

am I right that Lottie died 1953? seems reasonable that husband married sister, who maybe the one I have found and she had never married.

The will in 1972 makes no mention of Lottie? which if she had died in 1953 would make sense.

That looks good. So, one man marrying two sisters.

This would be her death then after the will:

                    Deaths Mar 1979
                    FOSTER LOUIE 9MR1901 DARTFORD 16 1128
                    FOSTER LOUIE MAUREEN 9MR1901 DARTFORD 16 1128

                    Edit: right birth too.

Weird where 'Maureen' has come from, all other children have middle names, maybe added by parents afterwards!

Lotties death in 1953 will be correct, her share of the will went to her daughter Patricia Best.

In 1939 John H. Foster, Lottie and Patricia were living in Gravesend Kent, he was a Stoker in the Royal Navy. In 1941 a John H. Foster, Stoker, was killed when H.M.S Achates hit a mine, I assumed that it was him but perhaps not but Foster was a common name in Kent so perhaps there is another John H.

Have not come across Maureen associated with Louie but possible seeing that her brother Henry Garfield gave his daughter the 3rd name of Maureen.

Kats info on Louies death appears to be correct as a Foster but John H. is now the puzzle, have to some more searching. What do you guys think of the John killed in the war, too much of a coincidence that both were Stokers.

I think the John H Foster killed in the war cannot be your man. Lottie and Louie both married a man called John H Foster and I think it would be stretching coincidence too far if two sisters msrried two men with exactly the same name even if it is a relatively common name.

I think as OC. The fact that Lottie died in 1953 and Louie married in 1855 to a man with the same name as her sister's husband is beyond coincidence.

Not sure if this is the same person but probate here:

                              Name: Louie Foster
                              Death Date: 28 Dec 1978
                              Death Place: Westbrook Margate
                              Probate Date: 1 Mar 1979
                              Probate Registry: Brighton

Says living in Margate, not Dartford district (Thanet). Sadly no names, so can't decide if John H still alive. If he was then he could have moved anywhere, do you know where the daughter lived?
