  • Bernard W Yates WWII service

Looking for the service record of Bernard B 1926 Lichfield Staffs. I've been told that he was in the Guards Armored Tank Div and took part in "Operation Market Garden" where he was injured, loosing a hand. Are his records available?

Thank.s Vera. If that is him then that blows a big hole in what I was told as "Market Garden" took place in 1944

Can only see one other BW Yates. He was RA b Bolton.

The WW2 service records not available from the usual sites ie Ancestry, FMP although Rolls of Honour and Medal rolls can be seen.
WW2 service records can be obtained via GovUk site with certain provisos and £30 fee.
