    they link to an app, so that you can switch them off remotely, or set them up with routines like a timer.

    you can normally link them to any or all of Amazon Alexa, google chrome home or Hive.

    We had one for the Christmas tree lights this year, and just used to ask Alexa to switch them on and off, thinking of setting one up for my Dad so that he doesn't have to bend down and switch off the TV plug every night, as he won't stop that. so am testing out a cheaper set. But seems it doesn't like BT internet, someone has made the suggestion now to rename it without the - so will give that a go later, as clearly I will have to change all other wifi devices if it works.
