So I am writing up what I have for Charles Harry Jepson and see that he was baptised twice at Manchester Cathedral, once on 9th October and once on 25th December 1880. I am wondering how to explain this. All details are correct on both, with different people officiating, and neither marked 'P' (I know that private baptisms were often performed if the child was poorly at birth and that they weren't always marked). He was born in August, so do you think that it is that unlikely he had a rushed first baptism?
Can anyone please offer any insight into why this might be?
