I kept trying to find anything about the Feltham marriage and had looked at the advert previous but this time checked who Ann Brewer was. Any idea on the surname for the brothers she names as that hopefully might get us to Frances marrying?

Looks like she had a 'copyhold' in Dorset and Wiltshire, so connection with both counties. and another that I also can't decipher at the momentCarolyn

well it fits with this on free reg, although 1769, is much earlier than I would expect for death at 1820, but not impossibleLast edited by cbcarolyn; 08-03-19, 08:06.Carolyn

That's the one I wondered about last night, it might be worth looking at Catherine ...by and the 2 boys as they were in Dorset at the time of the will.Elaine

The marriage just seems so early, but names seem to be fairly uncommon. Not sure if there are more records on FMP.
I am still not too sure about it being an H, have tried to identify another capital H in the document but to no avail. The Ms are amazing, and Frances has a double small f - which also confused me, as thought that was a lower case use.
The will is like one of those word puzzles trying make out relationships! I assume that Catherine is the wife of David her brother, and they have 2 children Jospeh and John Thomas.
I see she also mentions her Daughter Ann with her married name, another I can't make out, and is also deceased at time of will.
She appears to have property in Dorset and Wiltshire.Carolyn

Had a look through and there is a brother John, but no named children mentioned, but does mention Downton
This could be him, or could be parents...depends if other marriage record correct I guess:
Name John Humby
Marriage or Bann Date 14 Jun 1761
Marriage or Bann Place Downton, Wiltshire, England
Spouse Frances Marlon
I can't read this place in Dorset - nor the daughter surname

Here is brother, and husband of niece Mr Woodlands from Downton
