I've been okay, maybe try a different browser? or clear your cache.

I also have issues with Ancestry on occasions. Very slow or non responsive but if I repeat the move it all works fine again. This has been going on so long I guess I've got used to it. FMP can be very slow on occasions too, with annoying messages saying "Ooops, we couldn't perform that search. Contact Admin" which is clearly not true because if I repeat the move it works straight away!

I don't have a problem with Ancestry but have always had it with FMP. It's usually slow for me and I get the oops sign a lot too. I wonder if perhaps different sites have problems with different browsers?

Thanks for the replies, just got a new iPad and was wondering if that’s the issue, or my WiFi or their website

I have had more problems since they installed the DNA stuff. I have had error messages at times where it says it can't save a record to my tree but then I find it has!

Also the hints are rubbish at times.

Certain times of the day can be worse than others - when America wakes up and gets online we're in trouble!

I think they need to upgrade their servers as there is clearly too much traffic at times.

I agree Margaret, I assumed the extra traffic might have been generated by all the DNA tests sold over Christmas

Yes, I think they need more powerful servers go cope with the demand now. I'm sure its not my wi fi or browser because all other websites I use are very fast.
On the other hand I do use Ancestry and FMP for several hours a day so I guess I see the whole range!

I thought I would take the bull by the horn so to speak. Rather than just complain on here, I have actually sent an email to ancestry about the issues. Not expecting much, but at least I have mentioned it too them.

Looks like it’s all my fault..........

                          Dear Paul,

Thank you for contacting Ancestry in regards to Server Issues.

We regret the frustration this has caused and are happy to help. We have looked into the issues you describe and have come to the conclusion that the problem is specific to your individual browser and not to the site in general. You can correct these issues by completing the instructions available at the link below.

Ha ha! The standard answer! I did follow those instructions once and it made no difference whatsoever. Just the frustration of entering all passwords again after clearing everything out.

I agree Anne I did the same the last time I had issues. I am guessing it’s an upsurge since Christmas with just additional volume of new users.
