  • Presented at court

    Hi,

Is there a list somewhere of people who were presented at court? Particularly gentry?

There is a rumour a member of my family was presented at court. Probably nothing to it. We know the surname, no christian name or monarch, or year.

    Anybody have any ideas?

I think you would find these presentations in the Times, which had court pages but it's going to be a long hzul if you don't know when!

Yes, it will be in the Court Circular column.

Thank you. Would the times have an archive to subscribe too?

It's here , some public libraries give free access via library card, not sure whether you would get it in Australia, but the Australian papers carried all sort of British news so you might find Trove has something.

If you apply for an online library card to the Australian National Library (free), that will allow you to access the Times (and other British newspapers) from your home computer
