I have found ancestors that lived and died in India in the late 1800's, is there a website that has free access or has anyone access to records, I'm unsure at present whether military related but it was a very bloody time in India. Can anybody help please. Thanks in advance

Genealogists never die - they just swap places in the family tree

Family Search is the Mormon site, but the actual collections can be trusted, the member-submitted records can be very iffy.
You have to join now, but it is free, and the site seems very safe.
Discover your family history. Explore the world’s largest collection of free family trees, genealogy records and resources.
or this one for the collections .......

You might try the website of Families in British India Society which contains details of all British residents etc from approx 1600 to the 1900's. The site was free the last time I visited, and
contains a wealth of information about life in British India.
Whoever said Seek and Ye shall find was not a genealogist.

Snowy white, whilst the full details can only be accessed by members, if you scroll down a bit you can still search for some records for nix. How much is obtainable I am not sure of. Cheers.Whoever said Seek and Ye shall find was not a genealogist.
