  • Help with handwriting

I've just obtained this marriage certificate from the GRO of Ireland:

I'm finding the handwriting quite tough - the scrawl for the 'B' at the start of Belfast in the top line is a good example!
Would you agree that Kennedy's profession was 'Bootmaker'? His father as well?
And what about Kennedy Stewart's father's name?

    Thanks for looking!
    Kind regards,
    William

could be Jms for James Stewart for fathers name. Agree with bootmaker

My first thought was Wm Stewart (William).

In my experience, James is always shortened to Jas, not Jms, but of course there's a first time for everything!

I agree - Wm for William - see also name of first witness. I also agree the occupation is bootmaker.

I also think Bootmaker (the B is the same as in Belfast) and Wm short for William. Did it myself before reading other suggestions!
