    Do you mean he was a witness and signed the register, or that his name was recorded as bride's father, without the notation "deceased"?
    Agree with other posters if you mean the latter case, especially if the question was "And the name of your father? And his occupation?" I've got plenty of certs which don't indicate that a father was deceased by the time of his child's marriage.
