I wonder if someone can see any info on a Great Uncle of mine. I'm trying to trace the Clarke family line and can't seem to find a few missing links on great Uncles and Aunties in Australia (without spending $$$ at NSW BDM hit or miss)
My Great Uncle, John Joseph CLARKE, was born (Stoney Creek) Mudgee NSW 1873 to Richard CLARKE (who migrated 1856/7 from Cambs to NSW) and Catherine DELANEY CLARKE (NSW Index #14031). John Joseph CLARKE died (or was buried on) 13 Aug 1946 at Granville NSW (NSW Index 100043). (That would make him ~73y)
I can see a few electoral rolls sparse detail, which I think place him in Sydney in his adult life, although I also see a later one in 1943 in a Clarke residence in Perry Street, Mudgee.
I also believe a WW1 enlistment card with a John Joseph CLARKE aged 44 Service No. 1934 is probably him. On this record, it shows he had a wife "M V Clarke". I have seen a John Joseph as a Carpenter, and a Railway Worker.
My Questions: Can anyone see a marriage for J J or a divorce, or children (although that WWI Military card shows a wife MV Clarke, I've not seen a wife at an electoral roll for same address). I did see a John Joseph (Jr.) same address on one Roll but I have no knowledge of Jr. or any other children
It is feasible that children (if any) born after WW1 are still living, although that would be a stretch unless he had children late in his life.
Thanks for reading, and (maybe) looking around.
