  • Mary from Tipperary

Mary was born 1835, her fathers name was John. Mary married Sgt, Thomas Litchfield at Ballysax on the 26th September 1856. Mary gave birth to Henrietta on the 24th November 1858. Sadly, Thomas died whilst serving in India. It was there she met and married my GGF Sgt, Robert Owen on the 9th July 1861 in Lahore India. I wish to make contact or obtain any information of the past and present Pearce family.

    Joe.

What do you expect people to do for you? The last date you give is more than 156 years ago and no mention of Pearce anywhere in your post except for the last sentence.
If this is a serious request for help, you'll have to do a lot better with information.

From familysearch.org we can see that Pearce was Mary's maiden surname. It's rather easy for a new member not to have posting down to a fine art.

      Joe:

You have a birth year for Mary Pearce but you haven't told us where you got that information and whether it is accurate or not.
There are not that many records to go on that far back and without a townland to go on for Mary's birthplace, finding her might be nigh on impossible.
If you have not done so already, join any or all ancestry.co.uk, genesreunited.co.uk, familysearch.org where you can build a family tree and hope that someone will contact you asking to share information. You do not need to pay a subscription to ancestry to build your tree but you will need one if you want to search their records.
You could try looking online for forums and message boards dedicated to Tipperary and post about Mary on those.
Also, if you can afford it, purchase a DNA test and get those results out there for the world to see. If there proves to be little in the way of paper records to help you connect with the Pearce family, then DNA might be your only hope of finding other people descended from the same Pearce family.

Best of luck with your research!

I don't think there's a 'fine art' in posting but a simple think about what the reader might glean from what has been said would be useful before people posted! :D

We shouldn't have to search out other sites to find what someone means when they post a request for help. I would never have though of looking on familysearch.org before replying.

A key point for Joe might be to get the marriage certificate for Mary and his GGF to see who her father is and then maybe post a tree on Ancestry with all the information he has to see if anyone else has anything to offer.

Create an account for free with Findmypast to discover your family history and build a family tree. Search birth records, census data, death records and more.

for info. Mary nee Pearce Lichfield's Lahore marriage cert to Sgt Robert Owen. Father John Pearce decd.

Perhaps the dob came from the mc of Mary to Sgt Li/t/chfield. The transcription is on Irish Genealogy, Naas reg but no image.

Not sure of the relevance of Mary from Tipperary. Must read Tilly Mint's links.

              Joe,
I have read your other postings on various sites and would suggest the following:

              1. Put a tree on Ancestry and other sites where trees are admitted to see if it 'baits' anyone to contact you.
              2. Take a DNA test to see what comes from that and put it on all possible sites for making connections
              3. Don't expect to find any Irish records that will help you find Mary Pearce's family as they are very sparse and will unlikely give you what you are looking for. Irish Genealogical records do not provide census records for the years you are looking at to find Mary's origins or family circumstances.
