I think Ellen Decoursey born 1875 is from the marriage of Edward and Ellen as noted by OC above. I'm sure this is a separate family from the one which "our" Ellen belongs as our Ellen names her father as Patrick and all the entries for Patrick and Catherine, and later Patrick and Jane seem to slot together very well. The 1875 Ellen probably belongs to this Edward and Ellen who in 1871 have a son Edward, also indexed with mother's maiden name Regan Edward De Courcy Q1 1871 Stepney 1c 534

This is the Mary I found earlier
Mary De Courcy Jq 1863 Stepney 1c 516 mmn Ragan
Elizabeth De Courcy Jq 1864 Stepney 1c 472 mmn Ragan
The GRO site is playing me up and I'm having a job searching it.
I suppose it's possible Patrick went to Ireland for a few years explaining the gap in the records.

This website contains images from the NLI’s collection of Catholic parish register microfilms. The registers contain records of baptisms and marriages from the majority of Catholic parishes in Ireland and Northern Ireland up to 1880.
Tells you where parish records are kept
You can actually view registers and writing not too bad!!Last edited by Frazzled; 14-07-17, 06:23.

For interest only
The 1911 census was for Poplar and Stepney Sick Asylum and probably where Patrick died.
