are we thinking then [safely?] that John & Joseph are brothers? and Mary & Hannah could be sisters?
John and Joseph are not brothers.
Joseph was baptised 10 Dec 1792, parents Thomas Squire (1762-1847) and Ann Sarson.
Josephs siblings are:
Sarah Squire b 1783
George Squire b 15 dec 1790 m Ann Westley
Edward Squire b 1796 d 1796
William Squire d1796
I did kind of wonder if [and I know it's a big IF that maybe someone misread the name of Foulds, for Fowler]
In case you haven't found it yet, I've checked the 1832 marriage register and the banns register, and Henry Squire definitely married Hannah Fowler, not Foulds.
Thanks Mary... we have chatted before on another forum re Amos Squire. I recall sighting a record (possibly military? - cant recall) a year or 2 after he married Elizabeth, but like yourself can't find any record of him after.
Thank you Darran for the snippits of info, I had been busy with other Foulds' lines and then drifted off into other realms of my tree. I will delve a little more today to see if I can spot anything else and recap where I got to. :smilee: welcome to the forum.
