As I have related in previous posts, I'm working on cleaning up errors in my family tree in FTM 2014. I'm getting my "source groups" organized so that the titles (if they relate to an individual) are in the format of "Surname_First Name MI-Year-Type". Thus a birth certificate source would have the title "Doe_John Erik-Certificate of Birth".
I went through my sources, changing the titles to this format. Then I had the bright idea that I would try to use the template for a birth certificate offered in Family Tree Maker. I chose the "Vital Records Certificate (State Record)" template and filled out all the fields. Once saved, it comes up with a title such as "Minnesota, Department of Vital Statistics, Certificate of Birth". No mention of the persons name.
Since my goal of organizing/renaming my sources was to make the source easy to find when looking for a specific record, this template naming convention won't work well. Am I doing something wrong?
