These are not my family members, they are connected to my 2nd cousin's mother's family in a parcel of papers and photos. Nothing on the back. My 2nd cousin's mother was from Nottingham, her maiden name was Grainger but she didn't have an aunt Sarah.

Any idea of the regiment? Can't quite see the cap badge though he's dressed very like my granddad who was in the Royal Field Artillery - I can see spurs. There's a badge on his cuff too.

    Thanks for taking a look,

        Lovely photo Jill.
How very young he was. I'm intrigued that he is wearing his bandolier, but not his belt. I've seen pictures of 1914 recruits wearing newly-issued and ill-fitting tunics with no belts and the stiff cap, but they've never had bandoliers, or any strappings.

My granddad wore a similar uniform with bandoliers and no belt, though he had a lanyard at his left shoulder, and his RFA cap badge visible.

They are so young, I wonder if it might have been a wartime wedding photo.

Can't zoom in very far as not in the right device, but can we see if she is wearing a wedding ring?

              Yes Tom, there's a ring.

He also has a badge just above his cuff.
