I agree! I wonder if we could go at it from the other end. Would you have access to finding his death certificate? I don't belong to Ancestry but I know someone who does...or perhaps you do. If we could find that, perhaps we'd be able to ascertain pob for him. I could ask my friend if she's not too busy to have a look on Ancestry as that's where Betsey's death certificate was found. Nehemiah died same year as Betsey, 1912. Thanks for your efforts on this...they are much appreciated!

Hi to all who have been assisting me with my gr-grandfather's pob info. (Nehemiah Wood). Through your help, and that of a friend who has access to some sites, it's looking like he was born in Canada. His mother looks to be Jane Ann b. @1786 in New Jersey, USA and died 28 February, 1871 in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. That date fits. Spouse: William Wood b. 1785 Dutchess County, New York, USA. Also fits with some pieces I had on him. If he fits into the Wood tree that I have found (who all emigrated to Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada from New York State, USA) then his father is John Wood and his mother is Rebecca (sometimes Rebekah) Roblin....her father was a well-known Loyalist in PEC (Prince Edward County) and the name survives. Thank you all for your help and various pieces that together are forming a more clear picture of how my gr-gr-grandparents came to Canada, and from where. Much appreciated!

            Hello Spoff

            Good to get a lead

I did trawl for a death for Nehemiah who I think must have died after Betsey as she is recorded as married at the time of death and not widowed. Couldn't find any record or mistranscribed and although there are some records added out of sync apparently nothing beginning with W.

Looked on family search for Nehemiah via William and Jane as they cross ref with father/spouse and child.. Saw the one you describe and am now wondering why I disregarded it

Hope it proves to be your Nehemiah's parents

            Vera
