  • Missing 1841 census

and also looking for the marriage record.

Alice Thomas b.1812 and Thomas Hocking, b. 1812 reportedly marry in Camborne, 1833. There are several trees on ancestry with them, one in particular seems to be well researched. He indicates on his tree that he had a researcher look up the marriage record in the PR.

No one seems to have found them in the 1841 census. They have children born in Cornwall in the early 1840s, so they should be there.

Here's their findagrave page. Note that their DOBs & Marriage dates are unsubstantiated, except for the one tree's reference to the marriage in 1833:
Galena Weekly Gazette, 28 Jan 1892 A Woman of Admirable Qualities ALICE HOCKING: Mrs. Alice Hocking, an old resident of Vinegar Hill, died at the home of her son in Scales Mound Friday evening, aged 79 years. Her death was caused by paralysis, with which she was stricken ten days ago. She leaves four sons and two...

** Can anyone find them in 1841?

    * Can anyone find the marriage record? I've looked in the Cornwall OPC without success, and I have sent a message to the researcher, so I may be able to retrieve the info from him.

    Thanks!
    Sarah

Well, I'd also be interested in figuring out her parents... and her grandparents... Those Thomases in Camborne recycled their first names, making it very difficult to determine family lines!

Elaine, the link doesn't work, I think because the page is only temporarily constructed.

I tried searching for Thomas Hocking marriage in 1833, but it didn't find one

                      Field Value
                      County Cornwall
                      Place Camborne
Church name St Martin and St Meriadoc
                      Register type TR
                      Marriage date 05 Dec 1833
                      Groom forename Thomas Wills
                      Groom surname HOCKIN
                      Groom occupation Miner
                      Bride forename Alice
                      Bride surname THOMAS
                      Witness1 forename John
                      Witness1 surname HOSKIN
                      Witness2 forename Matthew
                      Witness2 surname HARRIS
                      Notes Matthew Harris jnr.

Unfortunately, there's not much detail. I note that the record type is "TR" - I believe this means that it's a transcription of a transcription? That's what I've seen with the other Camborne parish BMDs.
