Just going on names and cllutching at straws a bit, wondering if Benjamin and Emma could have been cousins.
Saw a bap for an Emma Taylor in 1822 St Mary Lambeth. Parents Benjamin and Maria. On the baptism cert Benjamin is a Coal Dealer. Other children Maria and Joseph
Found a Benjamin Taylor in 1841 census in the Marylebone borough (Tottenham) with wife Maria and child Maria aged 12. Benjamin is a Porter, All not born in County
William Clark Taylor was baptised in Shoreditch father William and mother Frances. There is a baptism for Benjamin with parents William and Frances in Southwark in 1798.
Not sure if this would be the reason there is no obvious marriage record for the couple or baptism for Maria.

Did you ever find any of Benjamin's siblings in 1851. I seem to remember starting to look but apart from Daniel, couldn't seem to find anyone. Very elusive lot. I think, like I suggested to Val once, you should just adopt Benjamin George.
Well there may not be a mc or a bap but there should be an 1851 for Benjamin J unless he was travelling. Do you know if this was the case or were they local carvers?

Well, Vera Id abandon them but for the fact they will be direct blood line. What a nuisance. Well, it would seem as they tie up with my GGF, it would likely be furniture they were involved in but of course, ships need carvers I should think and coaches and big new manors. Nuisance isnt it. But very grateful for the kind help people have given.
