OC
but the ideal thing would be to see the register entry to clarify this.
if you find this entry on www.familysearch.org you can order the baptism [for free from them.]Julie

Kev
if you click on the second link and log in it gives you a form to fill in, use the details from the baptism and fill in the form and submit it, I hope that is clear for you to get your head around. I have only used this service a few times so am trying to think on my feet how to progress. good luckJulie

Philip DOLAN aged 1 living with Hannah BAMFORD aged 60
that is the connection I'll bet she was his grandma!
Hannah is aged 60 in this census. When did she die and who looked after Philip then I wonder?
It's interesting to note that the "place", presumably this means address is given as Wortley Forge. I'd like to know if Philip worked there. I have in the past, contacted the forge but their records do not go back that far. Pity.

Did she abandon him too, leaving his grandma to look after him?

this is how I would [did] fill it in.. I also added Philips parents names in the box where you put the 'Title of Record or book' I copied and pasted the book title then added the parents names after; Parents: Peter Dolan & Louisa. [but all you can see is the first part of the title when you put it in]
I am sure that if there is a problem that they would get in touch, I do know that there is a phone number as some of our members have actually telephoned them, but I don't know the number.Julie
