The census has her listed as b c 1905 - William left the army in 1906 (from memory) so that could be why the 3rd child isn't in the army records - perhaps born after he left???

Right - checked again - George John is listed as 4 years old in the 1911 census with Ivy, 6, both born Beaumaris.
      Mum Rosetta is 42.
I can't make out the boarders names but could be "Smithson" ???

The army record is 1905 but I see herky has confirmed that already.

          I've sent a pm.

Thank you for your pm. Very much appreciated.

So, if I am correct, we have William Trotman dying sometime between 1906 and 1911. Then we have Rose or Rosetta dying in 1918. I wonder what happened to the children, Ivy would have been 13 and George John only 12. Wish we were like the USA and have access to later census.

I know Lionel went to live with his Aunt in Birmingham and appears with her on the 1911 census. From memory it was to help out his parents (or parent) because they couldn't afford to keep him. It is so sad. I don't know if Lionel had any contact with his siblings.

Thanks again to everyone for all your help.

I suppose the only thing you can do is check for marriages and deaths for them both (Ivy & George) and if they had an offspring.
