Help forgotten how to back up to WD Passport

I have backed up my tree from FTM to my docs ,but I also want to put it on my Passport, but cannot for the life of me remember how.

I exported it to my desktop, then tried to send it to my passport but it says file is too large, it says I have 167GB free would that not be enough?

I would have though 167 GB was more than enough for an FTM tree file. For example my FTM file for my tree is 1.3GB and I have 2,200 people in it and that includes all the media.

If the file goes via the internet it may that is where the file size is relevant.
