  • FTM 2014 and .Ged import

    Greetings.
In a fit of pique when Ancestry appeared to dump FTM, I went to Roots Magic 7.
I have never been happy with it after using FTM for so many years.
I decided to start up FTM 2014 again and hoped to transfer updated data from RM7 to FTM and made a gedcom file as per RM instructions.
I imported this to FTM but find there has been no data update in my tree. What I do have are my original tree and an additional 'tree' called Roots Magic Gedcom' which runs but seems to have lost the recently added Person Notes and several other date changes.
When making a Gedcom file in RM 7 what if any data is not copied to that file? and why does FTM not take the .GED data and incorporate it into my existing tree?
Sorry if this sounds a bit naive, I am not brilliant on a computer but can follow instructions.
Any help with this most welcome.
If I understand correctly I believe FTM is set to make a comeback.
    Best wishes
    David
