  • Facts pages on Family Tree Maker (version 12)

The order of personal facts appears to be somewhat arbitrary on my individual pages. Does anyone know if it is possible to rearrange them - perhaps in ascending date order? It looks odd when a birth date comes after the death date or places of residence are jumbled up. Could it be related to the order of entry?

Also is there a way of inserting the Ahnentafel numbers automatically?

I have been using FTM for years but have never really got to grips with these things!

    Thanks
    Shirley

When you are viewing the facts, click on the DATE header and it will put the list into date order.

The only place FTM uses Ahnentafel numbers is on the Ahnentafel Report - which it does automatically.
On other charts or reports you can only use Individual ID Numbers - these can be found under TOOLS >> OPTIONS >> REFERENCES.
ID numbers are sequentially generated based on order of entry although they can be manually edited.
