Is there anything I can do? Help please for retrieving data from ancestry.

I have FTM 2011 which I never found particularly user friendly so continued updating my tree directly on ancestry. However, I now want to make sure that my FTM is updated as I promised a tree for a relative.

Do I have to manually go back through each record to make sure that the FTM record is correct and has all the correct records attached as they don't seem to have updated (guess there is no reason why they would).

HI Jo

You should be able to link from FTM to your tree in Ancestry

Not at my home computer at the moment, but I think it goes something like

Start new tree
Import tree from ancestry
enter account detaills for ancestry
select tree
download tree to FTM

You can then make change in either FTM or Ancestry and get them to synchronise as and when you want

I'm sure they help in FTM will give a better overview of the process

Thanks, I just saw this reply. I will have a go. I just hope I haven't things on my FTM tree that I don't have on ancestry. I really must be more disciplined!
